Dagupan City was all roots and boots on June 20, 2025, as the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) actively participated during a city-wide tree-planting bash! The event, in celebration of Dagupan’s 78th founding anniversary, carried the hopeful theme: “78th Araw ng Dagupan: Punla ng Pamilya, Puno ng Pag-asa.”
Under the visionary leadership of Hon. City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, the tree-planting activity marked the beginning of a bold transformation: turning the City’s former dumpsite into a lush eco-park. Talk about turning trash into treasure!
The DCWD workforce, led by General Manager Gretchen G. Buena and supported by the ever-committed DCWD Board of Directors chaired by Arlene Ann DG. Sanchez, was front and center—shovels in hand and smiles in full bloom. Their active participation proves yet again that water isn’t the only thing they know how to nurture—Mother Earth is on their list too.
Joining forces with other agencies and about 2,000 enthusiastic participants, the DCWD helped plant not just trees, but dreams for a greener Dagupan City. Because when you water a tree, you grow a city—and DCWD is making sure Dagupan’s future is looking tree-mendous!
