DCWD-PAMANA CONDUCTS COMPREHENSIVE INSPECTION OF PUMPING STATIONS FOR WATER SAFETY PLAN RENEWAL

In preparation for the timely renewal of the Water Safety Plan (WSP) of the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) and Pamana Water Corporation (PAMANA), members of the Joint WSP Team conducted a comprehensive inspection of all 25 active pumping stations on June 24 and 25, 2026.

The two-day inspection aimed to identify existing and potential risks and hazards within the water supply system that require preventive and corrective measures in accordance with the requirements of LWUA Memorandum Circular No. 010.14 and Department of Health Administrative Order No. 2014-0027.

The current WSP, which serves as a vital framework for ensuring the safety and quality of drinking water from source to consumer, remains valid for three years and is set to expire next year. To ensure continuous compliance with national standards and avoid any lapse in implementation, the WSP Team has already initiated the renewal process well ahead of the plan’s expiration.

In line with the directive of the Dagupan City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), headed by Hon. Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, the inspection also focused on identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities that may affect the water supply system during earthquakes and other natural disasters.

The initiative underscores the commitment of DCWD and PAMANA to safeguarding public health through proactive risk management and disaster preparedness. With the full support of the DCWD Board of Directors led by Chairperson Arlene Sanchez, the WSP Team continues to intensify its efforts in protecting and maintaining the integrity of the city’s water supply system.

The Water Safety Plan Team is composed of: Gretchen G. Buena – Team Leader; Glenn I. Gomez – Assistant Team Leader; Members : Renato N. Mundo, Engr. Kurt Eddison M. Claveria, Michael A. Fabe, Ronnie C. Salayog, Ludivico B. Balderama, Jessie B. Rapadas, Audemar E. Abarabar, Mariel Ann C. Larracas; Secretariat: Ma. Steely Ann P. Raga and Denise D. Aquino.

Through continuous monitoring, assessment, and improvement of its facilities and operations, DCWD and PAMANA remain steadfast in their mission of delivering safe, sufficient, and sustainable water service to the people of Dagupan City.
