Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) and Pamana Water Corporation, officially inaugurated a new pumping station in Barangay Carael, one of the island barangays in Dagupan City long challenged by low water supply. The facility has a capacity of 55 cubic meters per hour (15 liters per second) and is designed to improve water availability not only in Carael but also in Calmay, Tokok, Lomboy, Salapingao, and Suit.
The project forms part of Pamana Water Corporation’s investment under the Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with DCWD, highlighting the strong collaboration between the two agencies to address water service needs in underserved areas. The inauguration was graced by Vice Mayor Hon. Brian Kua, Punong Barangay Hon. Luzviminda Velasquez of Carael, Punong Barangay Hon. Joven Salayug of Calmay, DCWD General Manager Gretchen G. Buena, Pamana Branch Manager Glenn Gomez, along with DCWD and Pamana employees.
This marks the third pumping station implemented under the JVA since 2020, bringing DCWD’s total number of active pumping stations to 25, and reinforcing the shared commitment to reliable and sustainable water service for Dagupan City.
