In a move to promote health, hygiene, and wellness among the children of Dagupan City, the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) has continued its mission to make a difference — one school at a time.
What started in 2023 as part of DCWD’s Gender and Development (GAD) Program has now become a beacon of hope and care for countless students. With the strong support and guidance of the DCWD Board of Directors (BOD) headed by Chairperson Arlene Sanchez and the leadership of General Manager Gretchen Buena, the District, through its GAD Plan for CY 2025, has proudly donated hand-washing sinks to North Central Elementary School, Mangin-Tebeng Elementary School, General Gregorio del Pilar Elementary School, Bacayao Sur Elementary School, and Lucao Elementary School.
This initiative aligns with the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Order No. 10, s. 2016, which sets forth the Policy and Guidelines for the Comprehensive Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS) Program.
Since the program’s launch, DCWD has already donated hand-washing sinks to a total of 8 public elementary schools in Dagupan City. And this is only the beginning. The District envisions a future where every public school in the city will receive hand-washing sinks donated by DCWD, ensuring that no child is left behind in the journey toward a healthier and brighter tomorrow.
With each hand-washing sink donated and installed, DCWD flows with a message of compassion and community spirit—proving that sometimes, the simplest acts of kindness create the ripples that reach the farthest shores.
