In celebration of World Water Day, the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) successfully conducted its annual school-based awareness activity today at Salisay Elementary School, engaging young learners through essay-writing and poster-making contests centered on the theme, “Isang Agos para sa Karapatan at Pagkakapantay-pantay (Flow of Rights and Equality).”
The event brought together enthusiastic pupils from Grades 4, 5, and 6, who showcased their creativity, critical thinking, and understanding of water-related issues through their artistic and written outputs. The activity highlighted the importance of water as a fundamental human right and emphasized the role of equality in ensuring access to clean and safe water for all.
This marks the third time that DCWD has conducted the initiative as part of its Gender and Development (GAD) Program, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education and community engagement. The program continues to receive strong support from the agency’s Board of Directors, headed by Dr. Arlene G. Sanchez, whose leadership has been instrumental in promoting gender-responsive and socially relevant programs.
DCWD personnel were warmly welcomed by the faculty of Salisay Elementary School, led by OIC-Principal Ms. Lilibeth Le Geralde, whose support ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the event.
The panel of judges was composed of DCWD General Manager Gretchen Buena, COA State Auditor III Ms. Joedi Rose Urbano, and Project Development Officer I Ms. Ma. Aura Fausta B.
