Dagupan City, July 29, 2024 – The Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) commemorated its 37th anniversary with a vibrant celebration themed “FLOWING FORWARD: DCWD’s 37 Years of Continuing Commitment to Water Sustainability and Excellence” at the Motorpool Building, DCWD Compound in Tambac. This landmark event underscored the District’s enduring dedication to providing clean, safe, and reliable water to the residents of Dagupan City.
The celebration includes the distribution of customized mugs to the first 50 concessionaires who visited the collection offices of the DCWD-PAMANA WATER Joint Venture (JV) as a token of appreciation.
The festivities commenced with a holy mass, officiated by Rev. Father Allan Abuan, setting a tone of reverence and reflection. Following the mass, the program unfolded with a heartfelt invocation led by Ms. Denise D. Aquino of the DCWD Administrative and Human Resource Division (AHRD). Mr. Jason G. Estrada, AHRD Manager, delivered a compelling welcome address, highlighting the pivotal role of employee productivity in organizational success. He emphasized that the anniversary marks a significant testament to DCWD’s unwavering commitment to water sustainability and service excellence.
Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez graced the event with her characteristic enthusiasm, praising the longstanding partnership between the DCWD and the City Government. She reminisced about her prior efforts to ensure clean water access and expressed gratitude towards the DCWD-PAMANA WATER JV for their cooperation in city-wide development projects.
The Board of Directors was represented by Mr. Raymundo H. Ramos, who spoke with passion about the ongoing journey of enhancing water services. He acknowledged the support of the Commission On Audit (COA) and stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in improving service operations.
Newly-appointed General Manager Gretchen G. Buena inspired attendees with a forward-looking message. She reflected on the legacy of those who founded the DCWD and stressed the District’s role in innovating and sustaining essential water services that profoundly impact the community’s quality of life.
Branch Manager Glenn I. Gomez imparted with eagerness in continuously strengthening the partnership with the Dagupan City Water District. With the Joint Venture in place, he emphasized that it will not only strengthen the partnership but also elevate it, leading to the enhancement of water services for the community. This collaboration sets to significantly improve the quality and efficiency of water service delivery to benefit the City of Dagupan.
The celebration also recognized outstanding employees. Ms. Maria Celestina M. Reyna received the Perfect Attendance Award for three consecutive quarters, while Ms. Denise D. Aquino and Ms. Mariejoice B. Pamittan were honored with the Best Employee Award for the first half of 2024. Their exceptional dedication and contributions were celebrated with great pride.
The event concluded with closing remarks by Mr. Raul T. Castano, DCWD Finance Services Department Manager, who expressed his heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the success of the celebration. He underscored the importance of unity and collaboration as DCWD continues its journey of excellence and service.
