In a cordial gathering hosted at the DCWD Board of Directors (BOD) Room in Tambac Dagupan City on November 22, 2023, the Commission on Audit (COA) facilitated a courtesy call and introduced their new audit team. The meeting brought together officers from both former and current COA auditors, as well as representatives from various Water Districts.
The event began with a warm welcome extended to all attendees, setting a positive tone for the proceedings. The main focus of the meeting was to introduce the recently appointed audit team and foster collaboration among the various stakeholders. Notable figures from both the outgoing and incoming audit teams were present, with the former audit team leader expressing gratitude to each water district they had worked with.
Atty. Robert V. Ocampo, Sr. continues to be the Supervising Auditor for both audit team. The former audit team composes of the Team Leader Ms. Cristina M. Lopez and Team Members namely Mr. Jamhel C. Marquez, Ms. Charez Ann Ducusin and Ms. Lolit F. Cayabyab. Likewise, the new audit team composes of Team Leader Ms. Julie Agnes Honsayco and Team Members namely Mr. Anthony Christian G. Failoga, Ms. Charmagne T. Magalong, Ms. Joedirose F. Urbano and Mr. Gaie Mike Valencia.
Representatives from Water Districts attended the event which includes the host for the venue General Manager (GM) Rizaldy T. Mandap of Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) and other DCWD employees such as Mr. Raul T. Castano (Finance Services Department Manager), Mr. Jason G. Estrada (Administrative and Human Resource Division Manager), Mr. Renato N. Mundo (OIC – Construction and Maintenance Division Manager), Ms. Gretchen G. Buena (Senior Industrial Relations Management Officer A), Mr. Michael A. Fabe (Corporate Budget Specialist A) and Ms. Ma. Steely Ann P. Raga (Public Relations Officer A).
Other representatives from different Water Districts include employees from Lingayen Water District namely General Manager Joewelito S. Gonzales, Ms. Carinna P. Maningding (Senior Corporate Accounts Analyst) and Ms. Lynne M. Miranda (Acting Cashier). Binmaley Water District representatives also graced the event which include BOD Chairperson Amado L. Aquino, OIC – General Manager Mary Virginia A. Agustin and Ms. Patricia Joyce D. Terrado. General Manager Aldrin Z. Aquion and Ms. Princess Eve Quitlong (Cashiering Assistant) from Bugallon Water District were also present during the event.
Former audit team leader Ms. Lopez highlighted the crucial support and assistance received from the water districts during their tenure, acknowledging the collaborative effort in ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of resources. The atmosphere was one of appreciation and camaraderie, as representatives from different water districts took the opportunity to express their gratitude for the diligent work carried out by the COA auditors. The meeting served as a platform for open communication and strengthened the relationship between the COA and the Water Districts.
As the meeting concluded, there was an air of optimism regarding the ongoing collaboration between the COA and the Water Districts. The event not only served as a platform for the introduction of the new audit team but also reinforced the significance of mutual cooperation in the pursuit of transparency and accountability.
