In a remarkable display of community commitment to environmental stewardship, the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD), in partnership with Pamana Water Corporation (PAMANA WATER) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dagupan City, spearheaded a coastal cleanup drive along the picturesque Tondaligan Beach in Bonuan Gueset.
Under the guidance of Engr. Rizaldy T. Mandap, the esteemed General Manager (GM) of DCWD, the collaborative effort aimed to address concerns of coastal pollution, promote environmental awareness, and encourage sustainable practices among the residents of Dagupan City. The cleanup drive took place on December 20, 2023, drawing the participation of enthusiastic individuals, including DCWD employees, PAMANA WATER staff and the personnel of Tondaligan Beach.
The event showcased the power of partnership in addressing environmental challenges. The Tondaligan Beach, with its scenic beauty, has long been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
The Hon. Dagupan City Mayor Belen T. Fernandez recognized the significance of the event and provided logistical support and mobilized local forces to ensure the success of the cleanup drive through Tondaligan Beach Administrator Alberto Gregorio.
The success of this collaborative effort stands as a testament to the effectiveness of community-driven environmental initiatives and the positive change that can be achieved through collective action. In the aftermath of the cleanup drive, the partners involved are hopeful that the event will inspire similar initiatives and encourage a lasting commitment to environmental preservation in Dagupan City. The ripple effect of this cooperative endeavor is expected to extend beyond the shores of Tondaligan Beach, influencing a broader shift towards sustainable practices and a healthier environment for generations to come.
