A collaborative project aimed at reducing Non-Revenue Water (NRW) in Dagupan City is making significant strides with a series of infrastructure upgrades. The ongoing initiative, spearheaded by a the DCWD-PAMANA Joint Venture (JV), is set to enhance the city’s water supply system, ultimately improving the pressure and quality of water for residents.
Recent activities include the installation of a 200mm diameter gate valve and the interconnection of a new 100mm diameter PVC distribution main along MH Del Pilar. This critical upgrade will facilitate better water management and distribution throughout the area.
In addition, the project involves the replacement of aging 100mm diameter PVC pipes in Bayanihan Village and Sanggunian Village, addressing issues that have contributed to water loss and inefficiency. Residents in these communities can expect improved water supply reliability as a result.
Key activities also include concrete breaking, excavation, and pipe laying along Callejon Street in Pogo Chico, which are essential steps in the NRW reduction efforts. The meticulous work is part of a contract aimed at revamping the existing infrastructure.
Further improvements are underway with the interconnection of a 75mm diameter PVC pipe along Javier Compound Perez Boulevard, also targeting aging infrastructure and NRW reduction. This project is expected to have a positive impact on the overall water supply in Dagupan City and surrounding areas. Local authorities emphasize that these upgrades are not only vital for reducing NRW but also for enhancing the quality of service delivered to residents.
As the project progresses, the joint venture remains committed to transparency and community engagement, keeping residents informed about the benefits of these essential improvements. As Dagupan City continues to grow, the ongoing NRW reduction efforts are crucial for ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply for all.
