In a remarkable display of collaboration and environmental commitment, the Dagupan City Water District (DCWD), in cooperation with Pamana Water Corporation (PAMANA WATER), recently spearheaded an extensive tree-planting activity across 10 pumping stations of DCWD and its main office in Tambac, Dagupan City.
This joint initiative is an integral part of the Gender and Development (GAD) plan of DCWD for the year which does not only reflect DCWD’s dedication to sustainable practices but also serves as a testament to the impact possible through cooperative efforts. Aligned with Republic Act No. 10176, which mandates every individual aged 12 and above to plant at least one tree annually, the tree-planting activity brought together the employees.
With the support of the DCWD Management headed by General Manager Rizaldy T. Mandap and PAMANA WATER Management headed by Branch Manager Glenn I. Gomez, the DCWD GAD Focal Point System lead by Chairperson Jason G. Estrada and representatives from PAMANA WATER Water Resources Division lead by Mr. Jessie B. Rapadas, the activity successfully accomplished its task to emphasize the essential role of participating in environmental endeavors, not just as a legal obligation but as a fundamental responsibility of the Water District.
The simultaneous tree-planting sessions, held across various locations such as the DCWD Tambac Office, pumping stations located in Salisay 1, Salisay 2, Mangin Clores, Binloc 2, Sta. Maria, Longos, JDV Binloc, Samson and Maligaya, showcased the unity and enthusiasm of participants as they actively contributed to the city’s green landscape. Each pumping station and the main office served as a canvas for planting a diverse range of plant species, ensuring biodiversity and ecological balance. By engaging in activities that promote environmental sustainability, both entities actively contribute to the enhancement of the community’s overall well-being.
The event symbolizes a harmonious convergence of efforts towards a common goal of environmental conservation. As the tree-planting activity concluded, representatives from both DCWD and PAMANA WATER expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement. The green legacy planted during this joint effort is expected to grow into a thriving symbol of DCWD and PAMANA WATER Joint Venture’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship. This shared endeavor sets the stage for future collaborative initiatives that can further contribute to a sustainable and resilient community.
