The Dagupan City Water District (DCWD) celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8, 2024, with a special initiative titled “Empowerment in Every Kit: Celebrating Women’s Month with Hygiene Essentials,” which is one of the agency’s Gender And Development (GAD) programs.
With the support of the DCWD Board Of Directors (BOD), DCWD General Manager (GM) Rizaldy T. Mandap encouraged this initiative to empower women from different walks of life through providing them with essential hygiene kits.
Throughout the day, the DCWD GAD Committee headed by Mr. Jason G. Estrada and all female employees of the District distributed hygiene essentials to the first thirty (30) female customers who visited each collection office of the Dagupan City Water District-Pamana Water Corporation Joint Venture located at Tambac, Herrero-Perez, and near Dagupan City Hall. These female customers were greeted with a token of appreciation in the form of a hygiene kit.
The kits contained essential items to promote personal hygiene and well-being. The distribution of these kits not only celebrated the achievements and contributions of women but also highlighted the importance of health and hygiene, especially in the current global context.
The Dagupan City Water District reaffirmed its commitment to supporting and empowering women in the community through initiatives that promote their health, well-being, and empowerment.
